Why use this shift schedule maker
Rules it never breaks
It covers every shift with the people you need, keeps the minimum rest between shifts and gives everyone their days off. If something is impossible, it tells you exactly what is missing.
Fair and overtime-aware
Nights, weekends and holidays are shared out evenly, hours are matched to each contract and overtime above 40 hours a week is flagged.
Pitman, DuPont and 4 on 4 off
Ready-made 12-hour rotations for four crews that continue from one month to the next, or design your own shifts from scratch.
No sign-up, no server
Everything runs in your browser. Your team's names are never sent anywhere and the schedule is saved only on your device.
Several locations, one schedule
Stores, restaurants, clinics or sites: each location with its own shifts, staff fixed to one place and floaters who are never booked at two on the same day.
Excel, PDF and calendar
Download a color-coded Excel schedule, print it, send each employee their shifts for Google Calendar or iPhone, or share a read-only link.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no trial: every feature is free. The Excel and PDF files carry a small “Made with turnos.work” note at the bottom. If it helps you, you can buy me a coffee on Ko-fi.
Is it an app? Do I need to install anything?
It's an online work schedule maker that runs in your browser, on a computer or a phone. Nothing to install and no account. Add it to your phone's home screen and it opens like an app.
Can I cover 24/7 with a small team?
With 8-hour shifts you need at least 5 people to cover 24/7 with 2 days off each; with 12-hour shifts, 4 people (one per crew) on a Pitman, DuPont or 4 on 4 off rotation. See the 24/7 shift schedule page for the numbers. 24/7 shift schedule →
Can I make weekly or two-week schedules?
Yes. In Period & rules choose a week (Sunday to Saturday), a half month, a month or a custom range of up to three months.
Does it track overtime?
Yes. By default it counts hours above 40 per Sunday-to-Saturday week and shows them in the summary. You can change the threshold.
Where is my team data stored?
Only in your browser's local storage. There's no database and no account: if you clear your browser data or switch devices, the schedule won't be there. To keep it or move it to another computer, use “Backup → Download” and then “Import” wherever you like.
How do I send each employee their shifts?
Download a calendar file (.ics) per person, or all of them in a ZIP, and import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
Can I schedule several locations at once?
Yes, in one schedule. In the Shifts step click “I have several locations”: each location gets its own shifts and coverage, and in Team you mark where each person works. Staff fixed to a location only work there; staff who float rotate between locations, never two on the same day and always with their rest between shifts. You can view, print and export each location separately.
