What a nurse manager needs from a schedule
Staffing levels are fixed by the unit, so the job is spreading the shifts fairly without leaving a gap.
Staffing by shift
Four nurses on days and three on nights, or whatever your ratio is. The generator covers each shift and flags the ones it cannot.
Three 12s a week
Three 12-hour shifts are 36 hours, the usual full-time schedule. Part-timers and per-diem staff get fewer.
Fair nights and weekends
The hours summary shows nights and weekend shifts per nurse, so you can show the split to your team.
Requests and time off
Mark days off and shifts someone cannot work. Manual changes are locked and the rest regenerates around them.

Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule 8-hour and 12-hour shifts together?
Yes. Create both kinds of shift and set the coverage for each. The generator keeps the rest between shifts for everyone.
How do I avoid too many nights in a row?
The generator groups the same shift in blocks and spreads nights evenly. Check the hours summary for the night count per nurse.
Is this a replacement for hospital scheduling software?
No. It builds the schedule; it does not handle self-scheduling, shift swaps in an app, credentials or payroll. It is for managers who want a fair schedule in a minute.
Can I schedule several locations at once?
Yes, in one schedule. In the Shifts step click “I have several locations”: each location gets its own shifts and coverage, and in Team you mark where each person works. Staff fixed to a location only work there; staff who float rotate between locations, never two on the same day and always with their rest between shifts. Fixed rotations like this one keep working: each crew follows its pattern at its own location. You can view, print and export each location separately.
