Chore chart for roommates: no arguments, no favorites.

Every chore is a “shift”: kitchen and trash every day, bathroom twice a week and living room and floors on Sunday. Change the chores, the days and the number of roommates and the generator splits them evenly.

A split everyone sees as fair

In a shared apartment goodwill is rarely the problem. Memory is: nobody knows whose turn it is to clean the bathroom. A chart on the wall ends the “I did it last time”.

Chores split evenly

Each roommate gets a similar number of chores a month and does not get stuck with the same one every time. The summary shows how many each person has.

Your chores, your days

Add any chore you like (fridge, windows, plants, the cat) and choose which days it needs doing and how many people it takes.

Trips, exams and weekends away

Mark the days someone is out and they get no chores. The rest share them, and the report warns you if something is left undone.

On the fridge or on the phone

Print the chart as a PDF for the kitchen, export it to Excel or share a link. Everyone can add their chores to their calendar with an .ics file.

How many chores per roommate?

With kitchen and trash every day, bathroom twice a week and floors on Sunday there are 17 chores a week. Among 4 roommates that is about 4 each. Among 3 it does not work if everyone gets two days off: drop a chore, and the generator tells you before the arguing starts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it for a family or a dorm?

Yes. Chores are shifts without real work hours, so it works the same for a family with kids, a student house or a building where neighbors take turns cleaning the lobby.

Can I make sure someone never does a chore?

Yes. In the Team step mark the chores that person cannot do (say, the trash if they get home late) and the generator will not assign them.

How do the chores rotate?

Generate a new chart each week or month and the split changes and balances out. To repeat one, use the backup file or the share link.

Do my roommates need to sign up?

No. Nobody signs up: you build the chart in your browser and send them the PDF, an image or the link. Everything stays on your device.

Can I schedule several locations at once?

Yes, in one schedule. In the Shifts step click “I have several locations”: each location gets its own shifts and coverage, and in Team you mark where each person works. Staff fixed to a location only work there; staff who float rotate between locations, never two on the same day and always with their rest between shifts. Fixed rotations like this one keep working: each crew follows its pattern at its own location. You can view, print and export each location separately.
